Today ms Westerdam tied up bright and early at Almeria, Granada, Spain. Almeria is a nice port city with many old structures. After leaving the port area, I found a bus stop which featured a loop bus every 20 minutes. Since I had just missed a bus, I went over to the cab stand and found a driver who would give me a quick overview of the city for 25 euros.
We took off to explore the city. The first thing I noticed was how narrow many of the streets are. Most of the streets we were on were one way and just big enough for that one car. In several places we had to wait behind a horse drawn cart.
I saw, from the outside only, the Bullfighting Ring - which appeared to be a recently constructed venue, the Cathedral, and the Fortress. We then ventured up to what most likely is the highest point in the city, where I took the pictures.
After returning to the ship I took a few pictures of the city from the ship. A nice little city with a good Spanish tour guide.
