If you look at the schedule, you will see St Tropez for Monday, but the seas
were expected to be rough again in the afternoon and the Captain and the
port authorities came to the decision the St Tropez was not a good idea and
we diverted to Villefranche, shown in the pictures above from the ship.
Tendering off in Villefranche was very smooth. We got to the terminal with
no real plans in mind, and walking away we were asked about the HOHO bus.
That sounded like a good idea so we got on it and found that it was going to
Nice over part of the roads we took to St Paul de Vence yesterday. No
matter, it was again a nice ride. The cost of the HOHO bus was 20 euros each
and turned out to be a bargin. The pre-recorded information was nice, but the
tour guide the day before was better.
Once in Nice, we had a good overview of the area, then chose to get off the
bus at the beach. We found a restaurant that looked good and turned out to
be very good. We had a nice view of the Med, and a very good lunch at a
reasonable price.
We then waited a bit for the next bus and traveled back to Villefranche.
Upon arrival we walked around Villefranche a bit then returned to the ship
with a thankfully uneventful tender ride.
