The day to transfer to ms Rotterdam!
I had signed up for the 10am shuttle from the hotel to the cruise port, along with Henry and Carolyn. The shuttle was ready and we actually left a few minutes early. Raymond L. Flynn Black Falcon Cruise Terminal We arrived around 10:30 and the porters quickly grabbed our luggage directly from the shuttle. We did not have to move it the few feet from the shuttle to the curb as I normally do in Fort Lauderdale. The porter directed us to the entrance and we proceeded inside.
Inside we found almost no line, and were quickly finished with the check in proceedure. The sign said embarcation would begin at Noon and we settled in for a bit of a wait. Looking over at the incoming passengers, I never saw much of a line.
A little bit before noon we started boarding and we were quickly on the ship. After I dropped a few things in my cabin I went up to the Lido, where I found stations open with no one in line. I got lunch at the Asian Station and sat down and enjoyed it.
At 7pm the Captain had a reception for 3 star and above Mariners. I ran into Mark, a bartender I know from a previous sailing on the Noordam. Very nice to run into crew from previous cruises.
At 8:45 I went to the mix for a first, very enjoyable, evening with Barry from Boston. He did not disappoint. I enjoyed seeing him again.
Thus endith the first day on the ship!
