Reykjavik, Iceland

The first two photos are the seas just prior to arriving in Reykjavik.
We arrived on time at around 8:00am. We had arranged for a rental car in Reykjavik and the shuttle driver arrived on time at 10:00am. After a short trip to the rental car office (pictures 3 - 6 show the area), we started off on our adventure.
We basically followed the route of the Golden Circle tour. Iceland is a very beautiful country. Most of the day was at least overcast or drizzly with some heavier rain. Along the ride we saw a large number of beautiful Icelandic horses, appearently running free. We also saw sheep. The volcanic nature of Iceland also showed.
Our major stop was Gullfoss Waterfall. It was well worth the time it took to get there. All the other pictures were taken there. It was a bit of a hike to get to the actual waterfall but it was worth it.
During the day we stopped at Efstidalur II, a family farm restaurant along the route. A very nice building and very good food. As a testiment to the popularity of this restaurant, it was very full and a bus pulled up right behind us.
We arrived back at the ship just before 5:00pm and settled in for the night.
